Sandend Cottage

Set in the picturesque ‘get-away-from-it-all’ fishing village of Sandend, between the pretty harbour towns of Cullen and Portsoy on the Moray Firth coast.

This part of the North East of Scotland also lends itself to day trips, exploring the Castle trail, or partaking in a dram along the Whisky Trail or perhaps getting close to the dolphins and other wildlife along the Moray Firth.

Sandend cottage has stunning views over the wide sandy beach from the kitchen, lounge and two front bedrooms. The elevated garden terrace and summer house, again with stunning views, are ideal for outdoor entertaining and barbeques. The enclosed garden and back utility/’wet’ area, along with fantastic coastal walks, makes this an ideal cottage for families, dog owners, walkers and surfers.

What our Guests say about Sandend Cottage

Great, snug and attractive cottage

Great, snug and attractive cottage, well equipped and in perfect shape. Overlooks, at the doorstep almost, an amazing beach with spectacular surf for our visit. Highly recommended.

Clean and spacy cottage

Sandend is such a lovely place to stay at. The clean and spacy cottage and especially the kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you need. The nearby fish-shop just a few steps away from the cottage sells fresh fish as well as smoked fish in best quality and for a good price. We enjoyed very much our self cooked cullen skink using the fish from this shop. But also the landscape is stunning. We made a nice walk to Portsoy with it’s old harbour. Also the Glenglassaugh Distillery is only a 10 minutes walk away and worth a visit. Wendy has been a perfect host and even put some basics into the fridge. Thanks for that. And thanks for the nice fresh flowers on the mantlepiece on our arrival.

We will continue to be returning customers

We have stayed in previous cottages owned by Wendy & Colin and found them to be excellent in value and home comforts. We decided to try their lovely cottage in Sandend and we weren’t disappointed. The cottage is directly opposite the beach which provides a wonderful view. As usual the house was kitted out with everything you could ever need and was very warm and welcoming. Everything is of a good standard and well looked after. We will continue to be returning customers to moray coast cottages. The award winning ice cream shop in Portsoy is also a welcome attraction too.

We highly recommend

We stayed at Sandend Cottage for a month and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Wendy (the owner) is friendly, helpful and very responsive. The cottage location is brilliant, with the most amazing view of the sea. We loved breakfast time, watching the waves roll in and people surfing. The cottage has everything you could need for your stay and is close to several towns for takeaways and day trips. We highly recommend staying there.

Great location

Great location for a Scottish beach break. Sandend is a lovely beach which is very close to the front door of Sandend cottage. The cottage is warm and well equipped for a four person stay. Our visit was over New Year and the weather was mostly fine and when the wind blew the hose was well up to the challenge.
