So the police station languished, unloved, during lockdown awaiting it’s transformation into a modern and comfortable holiday home. Then finally in August 2020 we again called in the builder, Ricky Ross and some structural engineers. Apparently we needed to support the flat roof and pretty much totally rebuild the upper floor of the annex as well as stitching all the other vertical cracks!

A roof with no walls!

As well as that, we needed scaffolding round the whole building so we could remove the old harl, and then properly lime roughcast render the whole building, along with the 2 sheds we were retaining. We had planning permission to slap in a few more windows and a couple of skylights. We also discovered that there was water running down the basement wall from the pavement outside whenever it rained!
